During Reagan’s presidency, he fought against communism and General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev. In Reagan’s two terms, the economy saw a reduced inflation, it went from 12.5% to 4.4%. The average annual growth of GDP went up to 3.4%. Reagan inserted cuts in domestic discretionary spending, cut taxes, and the increased military spending.

Ronald Reagan was a true American hero. He was a key component in ending communism and the Cold War. During a speech at the Brandenburg Gate, Reagan challenged Gorbachev to “Tear down this wall” and the crowd was filled with a joyous and electric cheer. He led to the Berlin Wall being torn down and reunited families and friends that thought they would never see their loved ones again. Reagan was one of the most joyful, humorous, and charismatic people you could meet.

“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.”
– Ronald Reagan
